Dub Flash Records is a small record label, trying to
focus on unknown or underground artists and giving them a chance to release a
song of them or two. But sometimes, we might also release something from a more popular
name. We're flexible. |
 |
The money we put into DFR comes from our normal life
jobs. So it is always
unclear how many records (or: if at all) we will be able to release. We go on as
long as we can. But it's not easy as for example Dub Rogue lost his job by
the end of 2004 and is studying since then. |
 |
We don't offer high paid record deals. The idea of DFR is this:
Artists who would like to see a song released but don't have the possibility,
allow us to use a song (or more) from them. We release that and do
marketing and distribution for the record and if there will be a winning at the
end, the
artists get their part of it. If there is not enough winning, then the artists
"only" get the free promotion for their music. And just to be precise:
No release has brought a cent winning yet (01'2008)! :/ |
 |
Besides that, all artists get free copies of
their release which they can sell and therefore can make some winning
through that. Also, we had very good experiences in giving the artists
additional copies for a very low price which they can also sell and make
more winning. This agreement already worked well with artists in Sweden, Finland, France,
Italy, Belgium and other countries. Sometimes we also trade against other records.
It's all hand-shake deals and so far it all went fine and we plan to let
it stay fine. |

If you think this might be a deal for you, then don't hesitate to
contact us. If you are looking for something more lucrative then you
should search for a bigger label, sorry. And please note that we get a lot of
inquiries and therefore unfortunately often have to say "no". It
doesn't mean that we don't like your music. It just means that we're not able to
release it (at this particular moment). Thank you. |
