"Dub Flash Records" (DFR) was founded in Spring
2003. It is an expression of the founders' feelings for dub music, the
best music in the whole universe. |
 |
DFR is an adventureous trip into the world of
dub music. The intention is not to make big money. Instead it is a true
tribute to dub music. A music which gets far too less attention.
Nethertheless, we want to cover our expenses as much as possible, of
course. (01'2008: This hasn't worked out yet though.) |
 |
We have very limited possibilities but we try to
work and act as professional as possible. We don't have much budget
(actually none) and we
don't have a proper organisation in the background. Our focus is on dub music.
And we want to present it as good as can be nonetheless. |
 |
DFR stands for underground dub. The less
the chance of making a big success hit, the bigger the chance that DFR
releases it. And the heavier the stepper riddim, the higher the release
chance: Heavy stepper label! Heartcore dub label! Dubwise, no compromise! |
 |
DFR doesn't offer high paid record deals.
We also have an allergy against written contracts. We only do
handshake-friendship deals and all we offer is the possibility of a
release: Artists get the chance of an
official release, spreading their music to a wider range of people. Thanks
to the good connections, DFR is able to care for some distribution and
marketing. But don't expect a big marketing campaign. We are not able to
handle that. Oh, but you get some free copies as a
"payment". Wow... |
 |
OK, now you know what DFR is all about. It is
your decision if this is something for you or if you are looking for a
bigger label. There are enough good and professional ones. But there is only
one label which exists only for one reason: DUB! |
 |
Support the DUB scene! DUB is a
life-saver, it is the creation and it is the mighty force which is all
around us. You ever wondered what George Lucas was talking about in Star
Wars? It was DUB! Of course, it was. And when the last DUB ends, mankind is
dead. |
 |
And finally: Don't be disappointed if we say
"no" to you. We get offers for releases all the time. And
except very few exceptions, we would like to release all. But it's simply
not possible. It's a question of money and time. And money. Especially
money. 'cos we have none, seriously. :/ Thank you for your
understanding! |
