Manja, a young redhaired singer from Germany releases her new album "Mein Reggaegefühl" next week on MKZwo Records. The title, the promotion and the production info looks quite mainstreamy. But who knows. I haven't heard it yet. Instead I downloaded her debut album "Wenn du die Zeit hast", an 11 track strong MP3 album produced by Phil Harmony who you might know from various free MP3 dub productions like "Dubnight". What you get are some deep dubby and trippy riddims, all with German vocals - except for "Asta La Vista" which is a very spherical 8 minutes long deep dub track, so it of course is my prefered tune. But I can also recommend the title track which is a very nice stepper. Productionwise the tunes could sound louder and better mixed but the artists claim themselves that this album is just a start and there is much space above. Well, you can hear it on her new album if you want. And if not, I'd say you might as well download this nice album. It's nothing spectacular but it also hurts nobody plus it is free. Some additional dub versions would be good though. Anyway, you can get more information and download the free album from here. |
