A truly beautiful 7" was brought to the earth's surface during early summer 2009 by the Italian Ghettocity Productions label. Mighty Prophet delivered a rootical (but in a good way) stepping riddim with groovy skanks and a nice brass section including a cheeky flute meldody. And for the vocal, in my opinion this could very well be the best Dan I track yet. At least the chorus is a must, if you know what I mean. If I - the one who always claims: vocals, no thank you - sings along with a tune, then it must be good.
I have also tested this tune on one of the heaviest soundsystems outside the UK: Dandelion. And "72 Nations" worked very well, caused positive reactions and vibrations.
So, what I don't understand is the following: 1. no one in my personal environment was interested in the release and 2. it's a sad shopkeeper in the Outer Space Dub XPress. Even with lowering the price, still no one wants it.
Why is that? It's such a nice tune. Some people told me that Dan I has been inflationary lately. A bit of an overkill. Is this true? Do you think so, too? Post your comments on that thought below, if you want.
The good thing if no one has this record here in Germ?Any! though is that when I play it exclusively, it's another time where I can arrogantly walk around and say: Well, who played it? And with their heads down, my subjects praise: Dub Flash, Fub Dlash, Dub Flash.
Addition (29.10.2009): I have now heard that the release was very well received in other countries, so it's maybe just a local phenomenon that I described. Fair enough.
