Dub News from 2000
00-12-31: A happy new year to everyone!

00-12-29: The last news for 2000. Unitone Hifi is working on a new album (to be released in March on Different Drummer). The name will be "Space Bar". I updated more artist profiles and finally I uploaded all (except Hydroponics - I just forgot them, sorry) Real Audio samples in the "LP review" section.

00-12-06: Interview with Ryan Moore from Twilight Circus Sound System online - check it out! Please help me with concert / show dates. Any help appreciated.

00-11-19: Life must go on: Several new LP reviews online, also a new interesting category in the "concert" section and some new links.

00-11-17: SAD NEWS: This night Bim Sherman, one of the greatest Reggae singer of all, died in a London hospital of lung cancer. R.I.P. We will never forget you!

00-11-09: Unbelievable: So many new releases are out now: "Urban Dub", "Love Grocer" and "Soundclash Series Session 2" on Dubhead. Great stuff, reviews on the way. Also new on Universal Egg: Vibronics and Zion Train albums. On Jah Warrior is "3 The Roots Way" available. Review coming, too. Many will know it already: Best Vinyl releases the Blood & Fire CDs on (expensive) best quality vinyl. I saw "Dub Like Dirt" (King Tubby) - good as a christmas present. I must say that I waited months for new outstanding releases. Now they all came out together. Can't they put their releases throuout the whole year and not only for christmas?

Some tour dates: Jah Warrior feat. Systemwide (BSI): 16 November, I-Spy, Seattle, USA; 17 November, The Ohm, Portland, USA. Twilight Circus: 17 November, Etienne, France; 23 November Aachen, Germany; 24 Nov., Konstanz, Germany; 25 Nov., Geneva, Switzerland. More dates in December. Rootsman: 10 Nov., Augsburg, Germany; 11 Nov., Jena, Germany (with Jah Meek); 17 Nov., Berlin (YES!), Germany (with Jah Meek); 18 Nov., Wroclaw, Poland (with Joint Ventures Sound System); 2 Dec., Bradford, UK. SUBDUB events in Leeds, UK: 18 Nov., Iration Steppas Vs. Channel One Sound System, 9 Dec., Iration Steppas Vs. Disciples. Both starts 10 pm and costs 5 Pound on the door.

00-10-26: Finally the Dub Flash has an own domain. Bookmark now: www.dubflash.com!!!

00-10-22: There are several European tours of Dub artists going on at the moment. I. e. Twilight Circus Sound System, Linton Kwesi Johnson feat. Dennis Bovell Dub Band (not dub only, of course), The Rootsman and Japan's Audio Active. Sure all a must-see for dub fans.

Because of the good selling of Twilight Circus' vinyl only "Dub Plates Vol. 2" release there is a CD version planned. This will cause one less star in my review (the rare star) but will bring the good LP to more ears. Also it seems that one of the CD only releases will see a vinyl cut soon, too.

BSI Records from the USA released a brillant sampler called "Docking Sequence" that is available on CD and on vinyl with 4 extra cuts :-) Also new on BSI are the Dry & Heavy album (I guess it wasn't available in the US so far) and an album featuring Dry & Heavy and KING JAMMY (!). Only on vinyl, only for North America and limited to 300 copies. So be fast, America! For next year the release of the dub version album of Peter Brogg's / Jah Warrior's "Jah Golden Throne" album!

Jah Warrior has also some news. First he launched a new website at www.jahwarrior.com with a soon coming online shop. He also released 3 new 7"es based on the "Declaration Of Rights" riddim. Vocals by Danny Vibes, Anthony Johnson and African Simba. 3 different version on the flips. "3 The Roots Way" will be the next full length featuring U Brown and Joe Ranking. Release planned for End of October (except USA: January). Also on the way in a few months: "Showcase Vol. 2", Dillinger's "Youthman Veteran" and Rod Taylor's "Shining Bright". Jah Warrior: maybe the most active dubwise producer around.

Other releases that can be recommended or will come soon: "Hi Fidelity Dub Sessions The 2nd Chapter" (Guidance Records, Chicago) and "Sub Dub" compilation on Tandoori Space Records featuring tracks from the aforementioned Jah Warrior, Disciples, Iration Steppas, Rootsman, etc. and one album on Patate Records in France that features vocal tracks on the "Can't Take The Pressure" riddim by Hughie Izachaar.

00-09-25: Sorry that the updates are still not online. My internet provider "died" and now I only have expensive call by call connections. At least I bring you some new LP reviews. If you see strange HTML signs at the end of each page, please don't be angry. In fact this is the price for that you don't have to see the commercials from Geocities anymore that brought (not only) my computer very often to crushing!

The Berlin "Dub Club" (MY club) closed the doors forever because of no visitors anymore :-( That's sooooo sad!

00-08-03: OK, new Dubflash is finally online. New categories: Label and Artist profiles. So far many infos are incomplete. I go on holiday tomorrow, so I wanted to put the Flash online before I leave. Updates will follow as soon as possible. Also new are links to MP3 dubs (in the music section) and soon to come is my newsletter. I hope you like it. If so, some words in my guestbook would be nice!

00-07-26: Brandnew outfit online! Have a look and tell me if you like it! Well, I do!

00-06-23: New LP reviews online from "Dub Connected Vol. 1", Peter Broggs and Hydroponics. Still waiting for "Voyage Dub" on Twilight Circus and new "Sub Dub" (?) compilation. Dub Creator tour is planned for summer. You will find all the gigs here when I know them. Dub is getting a little bit bigger again. Most stuff comes now maybe from France. Bands like High Tone or Atlas Sonar (?) released some wonderful 12"es with powerfull basses and heavy use of echos. On CD is the "French Dub Connection" Sampler on Echo Beach label. Check it out.

00-06-03: Jah Warrior interview online! Including a photo of him!!!

00-05-16: 2 new LP reviews online. Also a concert review of the Kitachi gig. "Dub Scene" category is down now, new is "Concert" instead of. Also finally online are Real Audio files of all LP reviews! :-) Last visit in the "Dub Store" brought to light that there are nearly no new vinyl dub releases. I got a few french dub 12"es that are quite nice but I won't review them. "Iration Steppas" new album is said to be released in September. Kitachi album "Stay Of Execution" will arrive in June. Watch out.

00-05-04: Yippie! The site has 2nd birthday. Congratulations please to: DubDeMad! Or even better: Please write something in my guestbook. Thanks to everyone who supported me in the past. Especially Jah Warrior and Dub Creator! Peace and respect!

00-05-07: I bought some new records. Reviews will follow. Online is now a new interview. This time it's Dub Creator from Amsterdam! Have fun! On Wednesday, 10th May the incredible Kitachi Sound System plays in Berlin! Location: Kato (U Bahnhof Schlesisches Tor, if I remember right). Don't miss it if you are here!

00-05-03: Tomorrow (I think), Sly And Robbie will play in Berlin. And I don't have money. Isn't that shit? Also coming during the next days is Zion Train.

Maybe I write an e-mail to them and ask if they put me on the guestlist ;-) Dub Club is now every 2nd Thursday in the month.

00-04-30: Check out the shops for the new 2 releases on Jah Warrior records: Prince Alla(!) and Peter Broggs. Check the Warrior website for sound samples in Real Audio. I don't know about any other release at the moment because I have no money at all and I can't go to the shop because I would die if I can't buy records :-( Nevertheless I think there hasn't been much new things during this year so far.

00-04-27: As you can see, I haven't done anything on this site for many months now. There are two reasons: First, I really was short of time and my motivation to work on the computer during my free time was veerryy little. Second, there are so few comments that it seems that no one is interested in a site only about pure dub. So, why should I go on? The only comments were complaints. Blabla, why this rating, british dub is fake, you suck and so on. Get lost! Now, I am back again. I go on with my site because I WANT TO. And I don't care if you like it or not. Dub is the only possibility in music!
