2001-12-25: Merry christmas to all dubheads! As I'm very busy at work, I didn't find time to search for news, sorry. But I would like to recommend two records: A 10" on the Dubhead label with Twilight Circus and Dubclash: massive stompa dubs! The other is available on Guidance Records: Daddy Ous outta Finland. "Hard Like A Rock". A-Side with a spacy cool reggae tune and B-Side with a steppers remix from Groove Corporation. Very nice. > 2001-12-04: New Jah Warrior album delayed. "A Dubber's Guide" on Dubhead is out and well selling. The French label Hi Subway released a cool dub compilation named "Alternative Novo Dub Vol. 2" with mostly fresh dub artists from France. Watch out for this. Free Radical Sounds from Brighton/UK brings us "Nu Shoots Inna Roots", another fresh roots compilation. Adrian Sherwood strikes back: New 10" on Green Tea "Pass The Rizla / Zero Zero One". Preview of his forthcoming first solo album! 2001-10-29: "Soul Captain Band" from Finland has released a new album called "Jokaiselle tulta". Soon on Shashamani Records: A Tena Stelin 7" called "No Religious War". Sample here: http://www.ampcast.com/shashamani. On-U Sound mastermind Adrian Sherwood releases a 10" on Green Tea Records these days. Song titles "Zero Zero One" and "Pass The Rizzla". Taken from the forthcoming longplayer "Sherwood" which is recorded currently in the new on-U studio. Concerning the On-U Sound mailing list this means it is recorded in Sherwood's living room. Lol! Dillinger was lately guest at Jah Warrior's. An album is on the way with both, vocals and dubs. 2001-10-22: New vinyl only (!) release on Tanty Records. 12th November will see Dub Funk Association's "Black City Dread". 2001-10-15: Today, Lush Records from Sweden release a brillant 7". A Jah Warrior Production featuring Hughie Izachaar on JW's Pressure Riddim: "Thanks And Praise". A must have! Out on Tandoori Space Records: Iration Steppas feat. Tena Stelin "War Inna Babylon + Version", "Jungle Jungle + Version", Vibronics "One Drop + Iration Steppas Remix". Forthcoming release: Various Artists "Sub Dub: Digital Africa" CD (19 tracks) and double vinyl (12 tracks). 2001-10-07: Please note the new date on the flyer! New releases: "Herb Dub-Collie Dub" - UK Release date Oct 15th (Vinyl only), "Black Foundation Dub" - UK Release date Nov 12th (CD. Vinyl may be released at an earlier date). Reggae Club Show on Radio Malta is back. Check their website. Berlin's most famous Dub DJs play live in internet: www.dj-sets.com. Please give me some feedback (i. e. the poll). 01-09-12: Long awaited, now finally online: Junity Festival photos: new window 01-09-07: From my Finland holiday I brought a great reggae / dub release on Lifesaver Records: Kapteeni Ä-ni "Kiipeli 2" plus dub an extra track "Seis". Powerful dubwise song. Buy it if you find it! Also, on the finish rap album from Ritarikunta is a wonderful chilled-out dub version called "Marriankatu Dub". A contact to the producer brought to day that he has a side-dub-project called Twincat. More infos: http://twincat.tku10.net/ From France comes a cool white label 12" on Oneness Records: Zion Gate Music "Dub Land + En marche pour Sion". Reminds me of the mid-90s in the Aba Shanti tradition. Very nice one. 01-08-13: A vinyl only (!) release on Motion Records: HERB DUB COLLIE DUB - LLOYD BREVETT & THE SKATALITES. A new label called "Jamaican Recordings" releases nice made vinyls of old dub classics. All tunes are unreleased versions. Revolutionaries and Augustus Pablo are already on my turntables. Worth checking out! Two notes concerning the latest Dubhead Bush Chemists 10": Dougie Wardrop changed his name to "Waltrop" ;-) Or more likely it is a writing mistake (how ashaming). Then I want to mention that on the B- Side is a brillant smooth dub from a guy who calls himself "Mungo Hifi". Featuring Brother Culture on the mic. Very nice one. 01-08-05: New releases on BSI Records: Alpha & Omega "Dub Philosophy" and a 7" from Henry & Louis / Blue & Red (hooray, both still exist) called "Jah Jah Never Fail I". An album will follow. The new album from Dreadzone called "Sound" will be out August 6th (tomorrow). Check "Believing In It" and then buy the album :-) Dub Factory has a new album, too. It's called "Revolution" and was released on Ishq Records. Lush Records from Sweden will release a 7" from Hughie Izachaar. It will be based on Jah Warrior's "Ease Off" riddim and the name is "Thanks And Praise". Next Blood & Fire release is "Microphone Attack 1974 - 1978". Out on September 10th. And finally: "The Dubbers Guide" will be the next Dubhead release. Double vinyl or CD. Also coming: a new 10" with Twilight Circus and Dubclash. 01-07-25: Attention: Early 2002 will see a limited edition VINYL ONLY release from Tanty Records: "Black City Dread". Way cool! A new 10" on Dubhead with Love Grocer on it is out and a split 10" featuring Bush Chemists and Mungo Hifi. Did I tell that you should have "Volcanic Dub" from Twilight Circus in your record collection? No? So patience please! 01-01-07: Good news right at the beginning of the year. The Berlin Dub Club is back again. Big re-opening party is on 01-01-07 in the new location, the ACUD (Veteranenstr. 21 in Berlin Mitte).
