Austria's House Of Riddim band recorded an album ("Chapter II") with vocalists like MYKAL ROSE, ANTHONY-B, TURBULENCE, LUTAN FYAH, SPECTACULAR, LUCIANO, TAFFARI, GANJAMAN, NOSLIW (and more) and it's available now on Roughtrade (LP/CD).  Seven new Sevens (7"es) are out on the Heartical label, France. All on the "Slave" riddim (Basque Dub Foundation). 9 vocals, 5 versions (melodica or dub). Zion Train re-released it's classic album "Natural Wonders Of The World In Dub" on 10th October 2005 on CD and double vinyl (incl. the original CD bonus tracks). I remember that this album was even mentioned on German music TV channel VIVA because it was the favourite album of the year from two of the anchorman. I wonder what happened to them. They were cute blonde twins... ;-) Croatia's Bass Culture crew announces their regular dub & reggae show on Radio 101: Every Thursday from 0:30 to 3:30 am. The website has a live stream available. For all you night people out there. "Mariana Trench Dub", the fourth release from Giant Sounds (Sweden), is now available at www.giantsounds.com as free download as high-quality mp3´s and cover art. Dub Master Riko's new album is out, too. "Sly & The Dubbers" is the name and you get info about it here. 2005-09-25: New free Zion Train MP3 downloads are online. Click here. "Natural Wonders Of The World In Dub" will be re-released on 24th October 2005 on CD and double vinyl. The German Reggae Awards take place on 19th December 2005 in Hamburg. The nominated artists, singers, sounds and so on are all only the big and popular ones which you could also see on TV, have videos and all that. You can check the website nethertheless. Togetha Brotha Soundsystem from the Netherlands has a new 10 track CD out. Title: "The Highpriests Of Voices & Thundering II". MP3s can be found here. 2005-09-07: I'n'I Oneness is going to release a record on Black Redemtption with remixes of the tracks "Meditation" and "Rocky Roads". Finn The Giant, dub producer from Sweden, releases his music as free MP3 version on his website GiantSounds. His latest track "Stormen Dub" is the version from a popular Swedish 7" featuring the local vocalist Kapten Röd. The French Sounds Around label released a CD ("Heavy Weight Scoops Selection") in May which features 16 cuts from previous Scoops 10" releases. Adrian Sherwood's new album is also nearly finished. Jah Roots, a live roots band from the USA has finished a new album (not to mix up with the one I have in the current review section!). On the Heartical label are several new records out, too. Produced by the Basque Dub Foundation, there are 7"es on the "Fade Away" riddim available featuring Ranking Joe, Michael Rose, Wayne Smith, Hopeton James and several other vocalists. I guess you all heard already that Junior Delgado died this April? He was just working on a new album with the ON-U Sound posse. That's really a sad news. One minute of silence, please while you read this article about him. Italy's King David Warriors have a weekly radio show. Every Tuesday from 9 pm to 11 pm on Reload (?). You find a link on their website. "Umoja Dubwize" is another radio show. This time on FM Brussels which is in Belgium. Ashanti 3000 meets Dub Front Association. Every Thursday between 11 pm and 12 pm. "Babylon Station Live At Studio 1" is a new CD on the Czech label GunJah Records which works closely together with the Dub Flash crew. This was posted in March but so far I didn't hear anything about this. An early April joke maybe? The Groove Corporation announced the third part of the "Dub Plates From The Elephanthouse" series (G. Corp meets The Mighty Tree). Would be great to finally get the rare Ebn-e-sync release somehow. 2005-03-12: An offer from Culture Promotions: JAH SHAKA LIVE SOUND SYSTEM CD NOW AVAILABLE A new 7-inch, "Stoned Love" a combination with Abijah and Zema (7MELM001) is now out on the Melchizedek Music label. This single was recorded in Kingston at Tuff Gong and Big Ship Studios and includes Horsemouth on drums, Dalton Browne on guitar and background vocals by Yeshemabeth MacGregor and Trudy Francis. A new roots (Jamaican style) album with Lutan Fyah is out on the Lustre Kings label. In April will come a Linton Kwesi Johnson album. Said to have new tracks and most likely dub versions of vocal cuts from the "No Beds Of Roses" album. Would be interested in getting a copy. Speaking about Dub Syndicate: Echo Beach is re-releasing the "No Bed Of Roses" album on a CD, strictly limited to 2222 copies (what a large number in my opinion). Said to have a better artwork now. ;-) "Gregory Isaacs sings Dennis Brown" and Crazy Caribs meet Mad Professor "Dancehall Dub" are two more albums out now. The latter mentioned features Sly & Robbie, Mafia & Fluxy, MP and more. Sounds very interesting. Still waiting for a promo copy to review. The Dubhead label offers now MP3 versions of some of their albums for paid downloads. If you are interested in such a deal, visit www.dubhead.co.uk For sure an up-to-date idea. I should try that, too. ;-) Twilight Circus also offers downloads for quite a while now on different portals like itunes, emusic, microsoft, real and more. I don't link to such pages.
