Detailed review:
A strictly limited (250 copies only; I have no. 25) white label 10" comes from my hometown Berlin: Jah Seal (originally from Ireland) is singing over a relaxed and headnodding riddim ina futuristic roots style with a crucial bassline, dominating the riddim. I'm not sure who laid the riddim but I think it comes from the Soundwarriors environment (subsequent entry: The tune is actually produced by Jah Seal himself and was mixed by Aldubb from the Soundwarriors which means I wasn't so wrong with my guess). (Check also the Soundwarriors reviews here and here, thanks. And no, I'm not really sure who these guys are, sorry. I was in Finland for a year, remember? A lot happened in Berlin since.)

Three versions of the tune are pressed on the vinyl: the vocal cut, a dub version and an extended vocal/dub version from which I haven't really found a big difference to the two tunes on the A-Side yet - except that both parts are mixed together here.

I was introduced to this record with the info that it would be "rhythm'n'sound style" but I don't really think this fits here as it's much more rootical. Only the chill out factor is similar but that's not an indicator for rhythm'n'sound style. I think "Jah Soldier" sounds more exciting than r'n's. And that's all you need to know. ;)
