I got this 10" on the University of Dub session in March in London. I had not heard of this record before although it is from 2007. I'm glad that I bough it though because as frequent readers know, I am a fan of Mighty Massa and his easygoing dub flow. It's like if you're walking on clouds, you know.
Here, he presents a very smooth steppers riddim with a 100% "round" bassline on "Life", a song which automatically brings me ina good mood. It also works on a sound (I tested it). Even better on a sound comes the flip side "Land of Confusion". At first glance, it didn't sound too spectacular but when I played it on a sound I was wondering if it's really that song coming out of the speakers or if I played another channel or something. The tune has a demanding bassline and some cheapo keyboard parts which gives it some kind of personal touch. Very nice. |
