Detailed review:
Finn the Giant has quietly developed into a serious dub producer of today. Having started with contributions on e. g. "Roots of Dub Funk" several years ago, he released several tunes via his netlabel in MP3 format (free download; check the link at the bottom of this review) and in early 2007, he released a killer 7" which was sold out quickly.

Now, he is presenting 12 tunes (plus the 7") on a CD (and MP3) album called "Dub Pon Top" which he dedicated to me. Well, indirectly he did as he dedicated it to everyone who puts dub pon top. And that I do, don't I?! :D

The style of the album could be described as fresh, rootical, totally uplifting dub. There is always a flavour in the music which reminds me of fresh air. It's like as if he would have his recording gear placed somewhere above in the clear blue sky and so there is a fresh breeze in the background of the sound, maybe interrupted by some soft and comfy cloud once in a while.

Apart from this, the bass sound is strong in this one, as Yoda would say. Nice rumbling coming out of the speakers. I like that. And since I haven't found one riddim on this album which I dislike, I guess it's a clear 5 star rating, isn't it? Yes, it is. You get some rough steppers, some smooth steppers, some slowmotion steppers, some crucial one drops, some cool dubbing, some interesting sounds and effects, some vocals, some melodica as well and a lot of skanking and rocking and I don't know what else. Good vibes. What do you need more?

Listening tips: Dub Steamer (a massive one drop), Fit for the Fire (crucial stepper), Whole Heap of Dub (feat. Echo Ranks and a vocoder or whatever this effect is) and my favourite: Chase a Dub (just extremely wicked, what a heavy onedropper)
