Release information:
The second Dub Shoe episode is a mini album on 10" vinyl format, a format most requested by the fans and distributors back then. Maybe that's one reason why this release is Dub Flash's fastest seller. Another reason is that the majority of the copies immediately went to distributors instead of direct sales.
Even though Dub Flash has the reputation of standing for heavy steppers, the reality is that the label always tried to represent as many different Dub styles as possible. This release is most likely Dub Flash's most rootikal release, even closing in on some (almost) dancehall-esque vibes, and tributing a Dennis Brown riddim.
On top of that we find a soundsystem vocal & dub tune, an experimental dub tune, and some deep Dub vibrations. Something for everyone, so to say.
The vinyl edition sold out within only a few weeks. These days, you might find used copies on Discogs and similar places. The official digital re-release followed in 2017.
Behind the scenes:
The title of this release is again an homage to Star Wars. Star Wars' second episode is called “Attack of the Clones”, hence “Attack of the Babylonians”. There was partially a bit of confusion about the title, as people not knowing the movie couldn't know that the original Star Wars title refers to the bad guys. So had to be the title of this release. But the artists are the good Dub-I Knights, as mentioned on the cover.
Fun tidbit: The digital edition's cover kinda resembles the Enterprise from Star Trek, which is the wrong franchise.
