Release information:

During winter 2004/05, the Japanese distributor Cisco brought Dub Flash to Japan - in CD-format. A deal was agreed upon for two Japanese CD-releases: DFR006 and a "Best of" compilation.

DFR010 features songs from the vinyl releases DFR001-DFR005, plus a couple of exclusive bonus tracks.

The release number is DFR010, because DFR006 to DFR009 were already assigned to other releases at the time. Chronologically, the release is placed between DFR006 (February 2005) and DFR005 (April 2005).

The release has been sold out for some years, and since all the songs had been released previously, there is no digital edition of this release available. However,  the six bonus tracks have been re-released digitally on DFR013 and DFR017 in 2017.

Behind the scenes:

I don't remember much about the creation process of this CD. All I remember is that it was a very hectic winter 2004/05, because DFR006 was originally scheduled for much later, and DFR010 wasn't even thought of at all. Both releases were exclusively requested by Cisco, and the whole process was a bit rushed.

The bonus tracks were taken from my huge collection of Dub Flash dubplates. Some of those songs are on top of the Bandcamp download list of all Dub Flash releases, and they are top quality, and the real gem of this album.
