    Behind the scenes:

    Originally, Dub Flash was an analog record label, releasing on vinyl and CD. Digital releases were not standard at that time. Labels that released exclusively online were called "netlabels". While Dub Flash's US distributor slowly started shifting from analog to digital distribution around that time, it was a difficult process and quite a hassle.

    In 2011, I thought that it might be easier to start my own netlabel and separate it from my main catalog. I called it “Whimsical Music”. However, soon after I realised that the music industry was changing very quickly and drastically, and the shift towards digitally distributed music was happening at a faster pace than I anticipated.

    The concept of netlabels became obsolet around that time. Every label basically became a netlabel with the rise of digital music platforms. I nonetheless liked the name “Whimsical Music” a lot, so I decided to make this another series on Dub Flash. After “Dub Splitz” and “Dub Shoe”, “Whimsical Music” would become the third main series for my releases.
